London Rate Ltd. is insured with full public liability cover up to £1,000,000.
How do you ensure your gardeners' reliability and honesty?
By checking all the references provided by the gardener. If she/he cannot provide verifiable reference we do not offer them work. We take extra care when tracing each applicant's history. There are no exceptions. We also provide training to make sure that all of our quality standards for gardeners are being met.
How do you vet your gardeners?
Our vetting procedure involves: Proof of identity, Proof of address, Proof of immigration status, Proof of experience and reliability, Tests on common gardening tasks. London Rate gives all candidates who have passed the vetting procedure training in health and safety and key safekeeping. They are also monitor closely at all times.
Which areas do you cover?
Currently, we cover the whole of London and some surrounding areas.
How far in advance do I need to place my booking?
In an ideal world, all of our orders would be placed, confirmed and booked two weeks in advance. Flexibility with your days and times can help in a last minute situation, but certainly 48 hours to one-week advance notice is acceptable for most of our gardeners.
When should I meet with the Gardener?
This really depends on your requirements. Simple lawn mowing, leaf blowing, weeding and general gardening does not require an advance meeting with the gardener unless you are not going to be present on the day the work is due to be carried out. Obviously any landscaping or more complex tasks would require an initial consultation with the gardener.
Can my gardener come when I am at work?
Yes, as long as appropriate arrangements are made in advance, and you can be rest assured that everything will be under control without you having to be present. Our Gardeners have gone through our security training with regards to safe keeping keys.
Can I specify the time that the Gardener comes?
We make every effort to meet the requirements of our clients and are assisted in this task by our sophisticated database and Internet software. In the majority of cases you can specify the day and the time. If your request cannot be met then you will be automatically presented with the nearest alternative options.
Are there any extra charges I have to pay?
There will be no added extras to the agreed cost of your gardening work. What you use is what you pay for and that is the rate for the level of service you have booked.
Do you provide transport for your Gardeners?
No. Our Gardeners use the public transport and own means of transportation.
Who pays the Gardeners, you or I?
You do. Our regular clients pay the Gardener on the day of the work.
What methods of payment do you accept for booking?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Cheque, Postal order, Paypal and direct bank transfer.
What happens if I am dissatisfied with the Gardeners service?
In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with the services London Rate will offer you a free service and an alternative gardener. In order to solve any issue related to poor quality service we need to receive full feedback as soon as any problems occur.
Are there a minimum number of hours your Gardeners can be booked for?
Yes. There is a minimum order of 3 hours per visit.
What gardening equipment do I need to provide?
This all depends on the tasks that you require the gardener to perform. All details of equipment will be agreed at the time of booking.
What are your gardeners' working hours?
Our gardener work any day of the week from 07.00 to 19.00 including Public and Bank holidays. Gardener can finish later than 19.00 if pre-agreed with London Rate.
Will the gardener work in inclement weather?
Obviously there are some weather conditions that are totally impossible for a gardener to work in. An alternative date will be arranged if he has to reschedule due to the weather.
Are your Gardeners high quality and safe?
Yes. All Gardeners are personally interviewed and tested in our director's own homes and gardens. We extensively check references to ensure that they are the best staff around to make your event a success.
What qualifications do London Rate Gardeners have?
All Gardeners are highly qualified with professional qualifications and appropriate certificates.
I have specific design requirements; can your gardeners help me?
Yes. We have a number of Gardeners with a variety of experience and knowledge. Please feel free to make any special requests you may have.
Will the Gardeners assist with garden refuse removal?
Yes. The gardeners can help make arrangements for removal of your garden refuse at the end of the work.

Unfortunately our gardeners cannot be responsible for looking after your pets. Please make arrangements for them to be in another area while the gardener is working.
